Celesta Mullins is our Administrative Assistant/Support Supervisor.
She was hired in May of 1999 and was promoted to Administrative Assistant in 2004. Celesta graduated from Lakeland Community College with a paralegal degree and in 2006 from Leadership Geauga County. She has continued her education while an employee of the Recorder’s Office.
Celesta is a problem solver and dedicated employee. She does an excellent job of juggling her administrative and financial responsibilities with assisting and solving the problems of the people who use the Recorder’s Office.
Cathy Smith is the Desk Manager for the Recorder’s Office.
She was hired in March, 1989. She has worked for four Recorders, five if you count the period in 2007 when Celesta Mullins served as Interim Recorder. Cathy is always more than willing to help look up documents and offer assistance in any other capacity. She makes sure that someone is always available to cover the front counter.
Cathy’s duties include all aspects of day to day operations of recording, processing and returning documents. She is very helpful with special projects and, if you leave a document for “will call” you may find a sweet surprise waiting for you complements of Cathy.
Jared Spring, Deputy Clerk Desk, was hired in May of 2005.
His smiling face is the first you will see when you walk in the door of the Recorder’s Office.
In addition to providing quality public service, his sense of humor and friendly manner goes a long way toward making the public feel comfortable and welcome in the Recorder’s Office.
Jared has a photographic memory and investigative mind. He loves a challenge.
Beth Jeckering, Deputy Clerk - Special Projects, is our most recent staff addition. She was hired in June, 2009.
As a part-time staff member, Beth is responsible for getting older documents, currently held in book form, scanned into our system. She will be responsible for special projects that arise and she is also training to be a backup person for the counter during breaks and vacations.
Beth is a Geauga County resident and is happy for the opportunity to get involved with the community as a public servant.
